Contextual Ad
A form of paid online advertisement, generally associated with Search Engines - paid ads that appear on an ad campaign related affiliate websites
Conversion

Domain Name
The publicly registered internet name used to locate a website - for example: InfinityArts.com
Domain Name Services (DNS)
A service for pointing/directing domain names to particular server(s) and IP Address(es) across the internet - how a pc finds a domain via the internet
Dynamic Website
A website that has its content displayed with programming and usually a database
Dynamic URL
A web address (URL) that contains data parameters in the address commonly beginning with a "?" located at the end of the URL - for example: http://www.mydomain.com?product=gadgets

IP Address
A numeric assignment given to a particular pc or server to identify and access it via the internet - in turn a server directs internet traffic to its hosted Domain Name(s)

Paying to be ranked, placed and/or included in a Search Engine directory
Pay Per Click (PPC)
Paid Search Engine advertising expensed at a fee per every unique click on an ad
Pay Per Action (PPA)
A new form of paid Search Engine advertising expensed at a fee per conversion - for example: an online sale or lead generated
Search Engine Algorithm
Advanced programs developed by Search Engine companies used to decipher, rank and determine the relevance of the content of a website
Search Engine Crawling
The process of a Search Engine Spider/Robot analyzing the content of a website - Search Engine Spiders start at the domain (home page) and navigate through a website through accessible links within a website
Search Engine Directory
A listing of all website's and their pages that a Search Engine has indexed into their catalog of searchable data
Search Engine Indexing
The process of including a website's pages into a Search Engine's directory

Search Engine Spider / Robot
